My breeder had me stick a little collar on him from day 1, when he was 7.5 weeks old. Here's the thing you need to know: they will scratch at this collar like it's infested with fleas for about 3-4 weeks. Just hang in there and know that they will eventually get used to the collar! I waited to put the little metal tag with his name and all that on him until he was 3 months old, but you can do it whenever. I just figured "everything in baby steps." Indie is now 4 months old and I'm still using the same collar I had for him when we was 2 months old, only adjusted for his grown. Indie has this very light, very thin blue nylon collar. It works great and now he doesn't even notice it!
